For 16 years Jincom has been trusted by global leaders in the construction, mining and utilities industries to improve their health and safety communication. 

Our team of technical writers, illustrators, designers, animators and translators in our studio in Cape Town transform detailed technical documents, simplifying, digitising and visualising our clients’ critical business processes to overcome literacy and language barriers and promote greater understanding by their diverse workforces.

Where it all began

Our story began in a gold mine in Africa where Jincom’s founder and CEO, Andrew Smith, witnessed a supervisor explaining safety procedures to a team of workers.  

“He was trying to read from a 300-word single page document. He was struggling and nobody was listening - and I thought there must be a better way to do this.”

Inspired by the concept of aeroplane safety cards, Andrew started with a small team of writers, illustrators and animators, to create Jincom’s first products: Visual Standards, Toolbox Talks and animated Incident Reports for mining companies in Africa. These visual aids helped those companies to improve their environmental health and safety communications and led to reduced accidents on site.

Launch of new shop

With the launch of our online store, Jincom now offers world-class ready-to-use visual communication tools. Over the years we have tapped into our experience working with some of the leading HSE minds in the world and drawn on our communication expertise to come up with some of the best practice HSE communication tools across various industries. 

While our studio is still based in Cape Town, our head office is now in Ireland to support growth in Europe and beyond.
